The CMA Standards Council has welcomed Melos Education Limited as its 33rd accredited Partner.

Melos Education Ltd was established just over 5 years ago to encourage the working together of established Christian schools under a single governance umbrella.  Since its inception the Group now consists of 8 schools across NSW and the Group plans on opening three new schools in the next 18 months in Moree, Armidale and Deniliquin. These new schools are all being established as a result of the invitation of local people for a low-fee Christian school.

Melos Education works with church-based schools by taking over ownership and operation of a church school but maintaining the connection of the school as a ministry of the local church. Its approach is to maintain the identity of each school, honouring its history and appreciating the unique community each school serves, and it aims to ensure member schools are strong and serving their community well with support from the Group Office via effective governance, supportive leadership for principals and sound business management.

“Melos Education is a welcome addition to the Partners of the CMA Standards Council”, said Steve Kerr, the Executive Director of the Standards Council. “Its innovative approach of offering strong centralised school governance and business management with localised and distinctive member school operations is clearly serving a need. It is pleasing that the CMA Standards Council’s Principles and Standards will support the governance of these Christian schools into the future.”
